3rd Annual CrabFeed

The Band Boosters will be holding their 3rd Annual Crabfeed in February (details to follow soon).  We are currently soliciting donations for raffle prizes.  Last years Crab Feed was our most successful and we hope this years will be just as successful.  If you have a tax deductible donation you would like to give to the Crab Feed raffle, please contact Judi Green via email by clicking here.

A Note from Daniel Baudino, Director of Bands

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!  If you’re receiving this letter it means that your student is either already signed up for band or colorguard, or may be thinking about signing up.  The purpose of this letter is to inform you about important upcoming events including a tentative fall season schedule and information about the program in general. 

The most important upcoming dates for the summer will be our Summer Band Camp on August 3rd, 4th and 5th.  August 3rd and 4th will be night rehearsals from 6:00 to 9:00pm.  Friday the 5th will be an afternoon rehearsal from 2:00 to 5:00.  All rehearsals will be held at THS in room M-2 (the band room) for all band students.  The Band Camp will be a way for all students to get to know each other and to rehearse for the upcoming year.  All band students should bring their instruments.  If you need to rent an instrument from the school you can show up between 5:00 and 6:00pm on August 3rd and we’ll take care of you! 

Right after our last rehearsal on August 5th there will be a performance held for all parents in the PA building at 5:30.  This will be followed by a short informational meeting and then our annual Potluck at 6:00pm.  You can put the potluck food in room M-2 before attending the meeting.  The potluck assignments are as follows:

 Last name beginning with:

            A-L:  Please bring a main dish

M-Z:  Please bring a side dish

Fall Schedule - Tentative

Our weekly rehersal night is Monday night from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the PA building and is for musicians only.  This will start on the second week of school and continue throughout most of the 1st semester.  The focus of these rehersals will be to improve individual musicianship through small group instruction and sectionals, as well as working on marching technique and pep-band music which can only be done with the full band.

*** Important *** If your student is planning on taking the SAT this year, please have them take the November 5th test instead of the October 1st test to avoid conflict with the Del Mar Review.  Thank you!

The Boosters

The Turlock High School Band and Color Guard Boosters consists of parents who provide support to the THS Band and Color Guard program by having fundraisers to provide the extras like meals at performances, providing equipment support during performances and overall support of the program.   We meet every second Thursday of each month in the Music Room at Turlock High School at 7:00 p.m.

Boosters Need Members

In order to support the Band and Color Guard programs at Turlock High School, we need parent volunteers to help provide food, transportation and supervision at the band events.  If you are interested in volunteering your time to support our children, please join us at our regularly once a month meetings to learn about how you can help!
